Growing up in this environment, it's no surprise that Kupferer developed a strong connection to the performing arts.
"I grew up in the Chicago theater community and always knew I wanted to be a part of it," Kupferer reflects. "Nothing has ever drawn me the way film and theater have." Her parents' influence is evident in her career choices, and their support has been instrumental in her success.
A Natural Talent
Kupferer's talent became apparent at a young age. At just 5 years old, she appeared in her first play, and from there, her passion for acting only grew stronger. Her first major film role in 'Widows' and stage role in 'Killing Game' at A Red Orchid Theatre marked the beginning of her professional journey.
"I never really considered doing anything else," she says. "I was always drawn to the world of theater and film." Her natural talent and love for the craft are evident in her performances, which have garnered critical acclaim and a growing fan base.
A Well-Rounded Education
Kupferer's education played a significant role in shaping her career. At Evanston Township High School, she took theater classes, but also participated in team sports like girls' lacrosse, which taught her valuable lessons in teamwork and collaboration. Her AP Language and Composition and Psychology classes also provided a well-rounded education, allowing her to connect with her characters on a deeper level.
"I loved English because there was so much storytelling," she says. "And I loved AP Psych because we studied how people learn and the stages of growth and development. It helped me understand my characters better." Her interest in anatomy was also unique, as she found the hands-on nature of the class fascinating.
A Gap Year to Focus on Film
After graduating from ETHS in 2026, Kupferer took a gap year to focus on her film projects. Her most recent film, 'Mouse', is a coming-of-age story about two best friends navigating high school. Kupferer plays Mini, a character opposite to her own personality, which she found challenging but enjoyable.
"Mini is so different from me," she says. "She's quiet and doesn't like to be the center of attention. It was a fun challenge to play someone so different from myself." The film has already garnered attention, premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and receiving critical acclaim.
A New York Calling
Kupferer's next step is to attend The New School College of Performing Arts in New York. She chose this school for its lenient policies, allowing her to audition outside of school and maintain her career. Kupferer's passion for acting and her desire to explore different topics will be a perfect fit for her studies.
"I want to be an actor who is well-versed in a variety of topics," she says. "I don't want to be limited to just acting." Her time in New York will also allow her to explore the city's vibrant performing arts scene and build her network.
A Love for Horses
In her limited free time, Kupferer enjoys spending time at her family's horse farm in upstate New York. She grew up around horses and still participates in equestrian competitions, including three-day eventing. The connection and relationship she has with her horses are unique, and she finds it fascinating how they only live in the moment.
"Horses are really special animals," she says. "They only live in the moment, and that's something I've learned from them." Her love for horses and the performing arts are two sides of the same coin, both requiring dedication, passion, and a deep connection with one's craft.

As Kupferer embarks on her new chapter in New York, her future looks bright. With her talent, passion, and dedication, she is poised to make a significant impact in the world of performing arts. Her journey from Chicago's theater scene to the big screen is a testament to the power of following one's dreams and embracing one's natural talents.
